Yesterday, the long awaited Opinion of Advocate General in joined cases C-293/12 a C-594/12 was finally presented. It could have been even more radical when approaching the Directive 2006/24/EC, but the Directive did receive a serious blow. Opinion among other things explicitly states that the Directive is incompatible with the standard of human right set by Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union.
